This 4' x 50' metallic plastic mulch offers significant benefits for crop health by reducing virus-vectoring aphids on cucurbits such as melons, squash, and cucumbers. It helps decrease viral infections, resulting in a higher percentage of marketable fruit. The mulch's silver color disorients certain insects, including silverleaf whiteflies, which reduces their populations and the incidence of tomato mottle virus in tomato crops.
The mulch is black on the underside and has a thickness of 1.25 mil, providing durability and effective ground coverage. Its insect-repelling properties make it a valuable tool for integrated pest management in vegetable production, enhancing crop quality and yield potential while minimizing chemical interventions.
