Welcome to Centralia Digital Sound Library Capturing Ghost Town Ambience

Welcome to Centralia sound library captures the eerie atmosphere of Centralia, Pennsylvania, a near-abandoned ghost town known as the real "Silent Hill." Since 1962, an underground mine fire has been burning, causing the population to dwindle from over 1,000 to about 10 residents.

All sounds in this library were recorded on location, with hundreds of hours of environmental audio brought back and edited to authentically represent the town's ambience. Some unexplained sounds captured in the mines and surrounding areas are included, adding to the mysterious atmosphere.

Due to the natural low-end frequencies of coal mines and cave ambience, a subwoofer is recommended but not required for playback. The digital album is provided in 16 bit / 44.1 kHz MP3 format, compatible with Windows, Macintosh, and any MP3-supporting device. It can be converted to WAV or other formats. The library features extensive left/right stereo movement and strong bass, optimized for stereo systems but also compatible with mono playback.
