This Vollum Brotform Round Proofing Basket is made of natural cane and handwoven using a century-old tradition. It is designed for a 2 lb. loaf or 4 to 5 cups of flour, providing an excellent environment for the final rise of your dough. Simply flour the basket before placing the kneaded dough inside, and once risen, turn out the loaf onto a baking sheet for baking. The natural linen lining helps maintain dough shape and moisture during proofing.
After use, excess flour can be tapped out or brushed off with a dry, soft brush. Any dough bits should be dried first and then flaked off by hand. The linen should be hand washed in cool fresh water only and not machine washed. This round proofing basket is not oven safe but is a durable and traditional tool for artisan bread making.
