These 1/4" thick clear plastic acrylic discs are perfect for creating smooth edges on your cake tiers. The set includes two discs: one for the top and one for the bottom of your cake. The center hole helps you center cake tiers accurately by using a temporary dowel while icing. If cakes are not chilled before icing, a dowel through the discs and cake is necessary to prevent shifting.
To ensure you order the correct size, measure your finished cakes and cake pans. Use .5" sizing for cakes that shrink less than 1/8" and are iced with buttercream only, and .25" sizing for cakes that shrink more than 1/8" or are covered with fondant. Select the size based on the amount of buttercream or ganache desired on the cake sides.
