This 16-inch round pizza baking stone is made from cordierite, offering excellent heat distribution and moisture absorption for a perfectly crisp crust. With a thickness of 0.5 inch, it withstands temperatures up to 1450°F, suitable for use in ovens or on grills. Its versatility extends beyond pizza to breads and tortillas as well.
For best results, place the cold stone in the oven and preheat to your desired temperature. You can assemble your pizza on a peel and transfer it to the hot stone or build it directly on the cold stone before baking. Cleaning involves brushing off residue and rinsing with water once cool, avoiding soap and thermal shock. The unglazed surface may stain over time but does not affect the stone's performance or flavor.
