The fruit weighs between 16 and 20 pounds and features a classic Crimson Sweet rind pattern with deep red, firm flesh. This variety is noted for having fewer hollow heart issues compared to other early seedless watermelons.
Growers should use a pollinator variety such as Side Kick or Accomplice, which flower early and continuously, to ensure proper fruit set. Sweet Dawn offers intermediate resistance to Fusarium wilt (race 1) and Anthracnose (race 1). A signed waiver is required to order this variety, and shipments are contingent upon receipt of the waiver.
