It is suitable for use in hard candy, cakes, cookies, frosting, ice cream, and other confectionery applications. The flavor is super strength, three to four times more potent than standard water or alcohol-based extracts, so only a small amount is needed to achieve a strong coffee flavor.

When used in chocolates and coatings, the recommended amount is ¼ to ½ teaspoon per pound. The flavor may cause some thickening, which can be remedied by adding paramount crystals, liquefied coconut oil, or cocoa butter to smooth the texture. Also known as candy oil or flavoring oil, it is a versatile ingredient for coffee-flavored treats.
