This 50 lb. bag of Briess Crushed Black Malt is made from quality North American 2-row malting barley that is carefully selected, germinated, kilned, and dry roasted. The malt is pre-milled (crushed) for immediate use, offering a roasty flavor with notes of chocolate and coffee, balanced bitterness, and a dark brown color contribution to beers.
Suitable for use as 1-10% of the malt bill in porter and stout styles, it can also be added in small amounts (1-3%) to any beer style to enhance color without significantly affecting flavor. The malt has 6% moisture content and yields a beer color of 500 SRM. It is kosher, made in America, and packaged in a 50 lb. bulk bag. Proper storage below 90°F in low humidity is advised to maintain freshness.
